Later Alligator

So, we have a family thing to watch one movie once a week as a family movie time. Last week we watched Crawl a 2019 horror adventure. And gosh! I found it thrilling unlike my family. They found it disturbing ,scary and mostly creepy. Well.... That was the whole point. However, this was just a movie, mostly CGI. But imagine.. being face to face with this killing machine, definately amazing but super dangerous.

Made its biggest home to USA, widely in Florida and louisiana. Around 1 million American alligators live in Florida alone. Alongside alligators it is also home to crocodiles.

Alligators and crocodiles belong to the same scientific order that is crocodylia but different families Alligators to Alligatordae and Crocodiles to Crocodylidae. A very easy way to identify them is to look at their differences. Like the very big difference is their jaw and teeths.

Alligators have wider, U-shaped snout. The teeths of the lower jaw fits in the gaps of the upper jaw perfectly leaving the teeths of the upper jaw visible when the mouth is closed.

Whereas, the snout of crocodiles are pointed and V shaped. The teeth of the lower jaw fits outside of the gaps of the upper jaw leaving teeths of both the jaw visible when the mouth is closed. But if you come across one by any chance, run. Cause the difference is no difference both are super strong and pretty fast to hunt down its prey.

Alligators are exceptionally fast in water and land. On land they can reach speed upto 35mph and in water can reach upto high speed of 20mph. Woah! So.. ya you gotta be really fast if you come across one.

One amazing thing is that even in high speed alligator never loss the sight of their prey. Whether on land or in water. This is because of its eyes and eyelids. The eyes of the alligator is as big as a human eye. Like cats, alligators also have a lining in the back of their eye which helps to reflect light that is entering the pupil of the eye. It makes their eyes glow in the dark when light hits their eyes as well as helps them to see in no or low light conditions like muddy water.

And thats not all, to protect the eyes these creatures have two eyelids one is a normal eyelid that blocks unwanted light from entering the pupil and the second is a transparent eyelid, crystal clear eyelids that open and close from side to side that acts like scuba diving goggles when the alligator submerges into water, it stops water from blurring its vision underwater. So...it's fast on land and in water and has a vision under water that nevers goes blurr.... That explains alot, no doubt why Crawl comes under a horror adventure gener.

Definately not a adventure I want.

ALASKA Alaska embedded in natural beauty is a state in United States, On the extreme border of US.   Alaska has arctic climate which means that the winters are long and very cold and the summers are short and cold. The sun does not rise during some weeks in winters, and is out 24/7 in some weeks in summers. In this extremely chilling climate, the sun becomes a luxury. It becomes super difficult to live, where as humans use fire to keep themselves warm as a surviving skill. What do animals do? The chandelier

Crystal jellyfish Ever heard of a floating chandelier in the very deeps of the ocean? Well..meet  crystal jellyfish. Its scientific name is Aequorea Victoria and it belongs to the Aequoreidae family, which includes more than 25 species. The common name of this jellyfish comes from its gelatinous and almost transparent appearance, similar to Crystal. Crystal jelly jellyfish are found along the west coast of North America, from central California to Vancouver, near Washington and British Columbia. They live both in the deep ocean and offshore. In addition to its transparency, it has hundreds of tentacles of different sizes. Although these appear delicate, they are much more resistant than those of other types of jellyfish. It should be noted that these do not come out of the mouth area, but from the edge of its umbrella. In addition, they are loaded with a venom capable of paralyzing their prey. It uses its sticky tentacles to inject the toxin that paralyzes them. It then uses the st...
