Hydrophobic in Nature

Plants that repel Water

Rainy season is indeed one of the best seasons, everything & everywhere is so green, so lively so pleasant. one such rainy day while I was seating in my window I saw this plant, when due to rain all plants were getting wet but this plant was repelling water.
Basically water just rolls down from its leaves, it doesn't make the plant wet at all!
so I wondered why, I searched about it and got to know about plants which are hydrophobic in nature.
Plants which have hydrophobic nature are plants that repel water. Theses types of plants have waxy surfaces which doesn't let the water stay on the leaves.

But if plants need water then why do they repel it?
well it depends on the region where the plants are. A cactus is both in nature hydrophobic and hydrophilic when they don't need water they repel it. Most plants in rainforest regions are hydrophobic in their nature because they get lots of water from the ground, as the ground there is very moist.
Ex: a lotus, the leaves of lotus already have water bags under them, that why they float on water & already have a lot of water. so when it rains the leaves of lotus repel water, because the plant does not need it . Too much of water can & will decay the leaves.

ALASKA Alaska embedded in natural beauty is a state in United States, On the extreme border of US.   Alaska has arctic climate which means that the winters are long and very cold and the summers are short and cold. The sun does not rise during some weeks in winters, and is out 24/7 in some weeks in summers. In this extremely chilling climate, the sun becomes a luxury. It becomes super difficult to live, where as humans use fire to keep themselves warm as a surviving skill. What do animals do? Surely they have adapted ,but how some have layers of fur / feathers, but do all? What do you think? What kind of creatures can live in this cold ,freezing climate? Bear, beaver, cave lion, reindeer, ............,moose ,fox ,bison ,ox ,frog. Frog? Yeah you heard it right a frog known as  a wood frog, an Alaskan wood frog. Now we already know that it's found in Alaska also in North Georgia ,northeastern canada and southern british columbia ,but since it has highly made its h...

The chandelier

Crystal jellyfish Ever heard of a floating chandelier in the very deeps of the ocean? Well..meet  crystal jellyfish. Its scientific name is Aequorea Victoria and it belongs to the Aequoreidae family, which includes more than 25 species. The common name of this jellyfish comes from its gelatinous and almost transparent appearance, similar to Crystal. Crystal jelly jellyfish are found along the west coast of North America, from central California to Vancouver, near Washington and British Columbia. They live both in the deep ocean and offshore. In addition to its transparency, it has hundreds of tentacles of different sizes. Although these appear delicate, they are much more resistant than those of other types of jellyfish. It should be noted that these do not come out of the mouth area, but from the edge of its umbrella. In addition, they are loaded with a venom capable of paralyzing their prey. It uses its sticky tentacles to inject the toxin that paralyzes them. It then uses the st...
